Protect The Plant
Protect The Plant is our statewide push to stop the reversal bill that was buried inside the government reopening legislation. This hidden language would restrict compliant hemp products and create immediate harm for farmers, business owners, and consumers. Our goal is to bring full transparency to the issue and mobilize the community to protect responsible access in North Carolina.
The reversal bill was introduced without public notice or open discussion, which means most stakeholders never had a chance to understand its impact. If passed, it would undermine years of progress in creating safe and accountable standards for hemp products. The changes would directly affect small businesses, farm operations, and the consumers who rely on consistent and legally compliant options.
Our work in this initiative centers on educating lawmakers, correcting misinformation, and ensuring that the science behind hemp regulation is clearly communicated. We coordinate with policy partners to provide accurate data and real examples of how responsible products support both the economy and public safety. This helps decision makers understand the consequences of rushed or hidden policy changes.
We also provide clear guidance to businesses and supporters so the community knows when and how to get involved. This includes updates on bill movement, direct action steps, and resources for reaching elected officials. By giving people the right information at the right time, we strengthen our collective voice and make sure it is heard.
Protect The Plant remains an active effort as we continue to track legislative developments. Our priority is to keep responsibly sourced hemp products available, support ethical businesses, and prevent harmful policy decisions from taking effect without scrutiny.
